The StickNFind Bluetooth sticker locator technology is a relatively new addition public consciousness and it begs the question: what were we doing before? Were our lives tangled strands of unfinished tasks, revolving around a series of missing important items? What was life like in the dark ages and how did we Tweet about our lost-item woes when we couldn’t find our phones?

How to Stop Losing Stuff

Make a List

The best way to stop losing things is to establish a routine. Make a list of all the things you need in the order you need them before you leave the house each morning. Laminate your list and hang it on the wall by your front door. Go down the list each day, checking off each item with a dry-erase marker as you grab it. Then, you’ll know you have everything you need when you leave.

Figure Out What You Lose Most, and Stop Losing It!

Make a mental list of the things you always lose, the really important ones. You may have the following on there, if you’re anything like us:

  • keys
  • wallet
  • phone
  • makeup
  • mind

Next, think about the ways you’re losing these things. Do they fall out of your bag or your pocket? Do you set them down somewhere stupid? Do you leave them in the car?

Then, brainstorm logical ways of avoiding this problem in the future. If the thing falls from your bag, get a bag with zippered pockets. If you set the thing down somewhere stupid, get a basket where you can always deposit it immediately upon entering your house, etc. That’s what we did with our keys in the before-time. Remember, the unwritten step here is to buy a Bluetooth sticker locator.

Don’t Panic When You’ve Lost Something

Attitude is everything. If you beat yourself up, saying: “it’s lost forever; may as well eat a pint of ice cream and feel SAD,” you’ll never find the thing. Remind yourself that people lose stuff all the time, and they also find stuff.

Repeat to yourself a mantra along the lines of “I WILL find this thing. It HAS to be here somewhere.” The vibe you put out to the universe is returned to you and so will be the thing you’ve lost if you stay positive. Retrace your steps and in doing so, you may remember another step you had previously forgotten. If you haven’t found it and you’ve been looking for a while, stop! Take a break. When you return, you’ll have some fresh ideas.

So until you get your Bluetooth tracker, you’ve got options! Make a system, adhere to it as best you can and keep calm. You’ll find what you’re looking for if you keep your attitude positive.

Stay resilient. Or you could just get the Bluetooth stickers, and avoid doing all the stuff above. Either way, best of luck!
